Merck, BioCity Nottingham Ltd., Roslin Foundation pharmaceuticals news

Merck gifted its former R&D facility in Newhouse, Scotland, to the BioCity Scotland research cluster for biotech, pharma, med-tech and healthcare companies. The 23 acre site includes 130,000 square feet of laboratory and office space, as well as drug discovery and development equipment and a library of more than 100,000 compounds. BioCity Scotland is a 75/25 JV between incubator BioCity Nottingham and science park Roslin BioCentre, which is owned by the Roslin Foundation and the U.K.'s Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). BioCity Scotland said grants and funding options may be available to tenants, which can move in immediately. The site can accommodate company sizes ranging from startups to more established firms. ...
