BAY's Bayer CropScience subsidiary (Monheim, Germany) said it identified traces of a non-commercial bioengineered rice line, LLRICE601, in commercial rice seed. LLRICE601 expresses the phosphinothricin-N-acetyltransferase (PAT), a protein that provides tolerance to glufosinate-ammonium herbicide.
