REGN researchers and colleagues have elucidated a portion of the communication system between nerves and muscles, which should aid in the study of the muscle deterioration that accompanies muscular dystrophies, motor neuron disease and myasthenia gravis.

Communication between nerves and muscles occurs at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ), a highly specialized connection located at the nerve tip where it contacts the muscle surface.
