The La Jolla company announced discovery of a gene locus narrowed to a small region on chromosome six that appears to be involved with a familial form of the reading disorder. Licensing of the discovery is still being discussed the company said. One of the authors of the report now works at Sequana

As published in Science,the linkage was found by a statistical technique called interval mapping, which allows analysis of many genetic markers simultaneously rather than one at a time.
