Scientists have discovered a gene responsible for an inherited form of colon cancer that will lead to a diagnostic test for people at risk due to family history of the disease, hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer.

The identification technology has been licensed to an undisclosed party. Availability of testing is still one or two years away, according to the university. ...
