Pfizer creates ITEN target discovery network with academia

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) announced its Innovative Target Exploration Network (ITEN), an early stage partnering model to identify research projects with the potential to deliver new therapeutic targets and mechanisms of action for future discovery efforts in the pharma's core areas of interest. The first participants in the program are University of Cambridge, University of Oxford and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

The Cambridge and Oxford projects each focus on deubiquitinylation enzymes as potential treatments for cancer, as well as autoimmune, cardio-metabolic and rare diseases. The University of Texas project will identify genetic targets for cancer and metabolic disease indications...
