Merck forms big data cancer alliance

Merck KGaA (Xetra:MRK) is collaborating with Project Data Sphere, a non-profit initiative of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer's Life Sciences Consortium, to form a big data platform of clinical and real-world oncology data and analytical tools.

The partners will jointly lead the Global Oncology Big Data Alliance (GOBDA) to expand Project Data Sphere's existing database. The non-profit's current platform consists of de-identified historical clinical data from almost 100,000 patients in cancer trials from multiple institutions.
