Shan5 pentavalent vaccine regulatory update

Sanofi's Sanofi Pasteur vaccines division said the World Health Organization (WHO) awarded prequalification to its Shan5 pediatric pentavalent vaccine. Sanofi Pasteur said the vaccine is now eligible for purchase by United Nations agencies. Shan5 is a combination vaccine approved for use in children from 6 weeks of age against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, Haemophilus influenzae type b ( Hib) and hepatitis B. India approved the vaccine in March. Shantha Biotechnics Ltd., an affiliate of Sanofi Pasteur, manufactures Shan5 at its facility in Hyderabad, India. ...
