Aggrenox/Asasantin Retard dipyridamole regulatory update

The U.K.'s NICE issued final guidance recommending use of clopidogrel to prevent occlusive vascular events in patients with ischemic stroke, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) or multivascular disease, or in patients who have had a myocardial infarction (MI) if aspirin is contraindicated or not tolerated. The guidance is in line with an October final appraisal determination, which recommended wider use of clopidogrel due to the availability of cheaper generic versions of the antiplatelet drug in the U.K. (see BioCentury, Nov. 1). ...
