A single dose of bavituximab increased survival in hamsters infected with lethal doses of viruses from two different families that cause viral hemorrhagic fever. In vitro, bavituximab and PGN635 bound to representative viruses of major VHF virus families and mammalian cells infected with hemorrhagic fever viruses.
