Advicor extended release lovastatin/niacin data

In a retrospective, post-marketing analysis of 6,574 adults taking corticosteroids for asthma, patients who also received statin treatment for a cardiovascular condition had a lower rate of hospitalization or ER visit for asthma over 12 months (20% vs. 29%). The study included patients taking additional asthma medications, including short- and long-acting beta agonists and leukotriene modifiers.
