Androgel dihydrotestosterone data

A single patient with AIDS has improved following application of a gel containing DHT, a testosterone derivative. The report is the first data from an ongoing Phase II trial. The patient had been eating poorly and had lost more than 20 pounds in six months. The gel, applied to arms and abdomen every day for six weeks, was associated with weight gain from 109 to 123 pounds, due to a 12 percent increase in lean body mass.
