Why STUB1 could be a new thrombosis target for CKD patients

Patients with chronic kidney disease are at a higher risk of thrombosis, especially following surgery and dialysis, but are also at a higher risk of bleeding than healthy individuals, making standard antithrombotic therapies dangerous. A new study has identified the ubiquitin ligase STUB1 as an antithrombotic target for CKD patients that reduces or avoids the bleeding liability by acting on a different pathway.
