Mouse studies suggest inhibiting DLK could help treat neuropathic pain associated with peripheral nerve injury. In two mouse models of peripheral nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain, systemic knockout of DLK or a tool compound DLK inhibitor decreased mechanical allodynia and pain-associated spinal cord microgliosis compared with normal DLK expression or no treatment, respectively.
