ICER seeking input on value assessment framework
The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review is accepting public comments until June 10 for suggestions on how to modify its value assessment framework for 2020, including cost-effectiveness thresholds for rare diseases and the use of equal value of life years gained as a complementary metric for quality-associated life years (QALYs). The institute plans to publish a draft framework on Aug. 16, with a final version to be released Dec. 18.

More opportunities to apply for CMS codes
CMS is moving toward more flexible timing for sponsors to apply for national reimbursement codes, Administrator Seema Verma said in a speech Thursday at the Medical Device Manufacturers Association meeting.
