Call for action to fight antimicrobial resistance
The Interagency Coordination Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (ICGAR) released a report recommending that governments, drug companies and investors work together to increase R&D funding for novel compounds, diagnostics and vaccines to combat antimicrobial resistance. If no action is taken, the group said drug-resistant diseases could cause 10 million deaths each year by 2050 and force up to 24 million people into extreme poverty by 2030. ...
