Cummings defends drug price information request
House Energy & Commerce Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) Wednesday denounced Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for attempting to thwart the committee’s investigation into prescription drug prices.
Cummings was responding to a letter Jordan sent on April 8 to 12 drug companies complaining about an information request from the committee. Jordan suggested that companies should refuse to comply with the requests, accused Cummings of pursuing a partisan agenda, and implied that he intended to leak biopharmas' sensitive, proprietary information (see “Reps.
