U.K. warns pharma industry to prepare for six-month import delay across straits

The U.K. government has revised its no-deal Brexit contingency plans and now expects import delays of up to six months on certain border crossings, according to a letter from Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock to pharmaceutical companies Friday.

In August, Hancock asked pharma companies to stockpile an additional six weeks of drug supply by March 29, 2019 if they provide drugs to NHS patients from or via the EU or EEA .
