CMS proposing to cut payments for new Part B drugs

In a proposed rule released Thursday, CMS said it plans to cut Medicare Part B reimbursement for the first six months after new drugs are launched. Instead of paying providers the wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) plus a 6% additional payment, CMS is proposing to reduce the add-on payment to 3% of WAC.
