Stakeholders release comprehensive opioid crisis action plan

Healthcare leaders should develop value-based and evidence-based models for integrated pain management and substance use disorder treatment, according to a road map organized by the Healthcare Leadership Council. The report, from more than 70 healthcare stakeholders, also asked lawmakers to incentivize increased access to evidence-based, comprehensive treatment including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and psychosocial counseling.
