CMS seeks information on rebates for Part D members

In a proposed rule release on Thursday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requested information on how a portion of the cost savings negotiated by payers, pharmacies and PBMs could be passed on to patients via lower co-pays.

In the proposed rule, CMS noted that based on data submitted by manufacturers from 2010-2015, the amount of all forms of price concessions, including rebates, received by Part D sponsors and their PBMs have increased "nearly 24% per year, about twice as fast as total Part D drug costs."...
