U.K. granting £86 million to speed drug, tech access

The U.K. government will provide up to £86 million ($112.4 million) in funding to small and mid-sized U.K. companies developing medical technologies such as digital health products and medicines. The grants are part of the U.K.'s Accelerated Access Review (AAR) initiative, which has proposed measures to hasten patient access to new healthcare technology.
The funds include £39 million ($51 million) for Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs), which are regional networks designed to coordinate among NHS England, academia and industry in order to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes...
