U.K. awards L8 million for sepsis research

The U.K.'s Technology Strategy Board announced the awarding of grants totaling L8 million ($12.7 million) to 12 R&D projects on the diagnosis, detection and management of sepsis. The projects include work to develop a point-of-care diagnostic to detect multiple pathogens and antibiotic resistance profiles and to develop biomarker-based cellular assays to predict stages of infection and sepsis.
