NHGRI awards genome sequencing grants

The National Human Genome Research Institute awarded a total of $18.1 million in grants to 10 teams to fund the development of third-generation DNA sequencing technologies, with a goal of enabling a human genome to be sequenced for $1,000 or less. The awards include $240,000 to Gnubio Inc. (New Haven, Conn.), $500,000 to Caerus Molecular Diagnostics Inc. (Los Altos, Calif.), and $2.6 million to Intelligent Bio-Systems Inc. (Waltham, Mass.). ...
