Bill Gates invests $100M to fight Alzheimer's

Bill Gates invested $50 million in the Dementia Discovery Fund (DDF) to develop disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer's disease. In a blog post, Gates said he is looking to inject money into some fresh approaches to a disease that has long evaded the drug development industry.

Gates also said he plans to invest an additional $50 million in start-ups with promising approaches to treating AD. His DDF contribution is a personal investment and not through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation...
