AI newco Qrativ raises $8.3M

Artificial intelligence newco Qrativ Holdings LLC (Cambridge, Mass.) launched with $8.3 million in a series A round from Matrix Capital Management, Matrix Partners and the Mayo Clinic.

Qrativ was founded this year by Murali Aravamudan, who is CEO of biomedical software company nference Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.), and Andrew Badley, director of the Office of Translation to Practice at Mayo. The company will use nference’s AI-driven knowledge synthesis platform and draw upon Mayo Clinic’s medical expertise and clinical data to identify drug candidates early in the discovery process.
