Freenome raises $65M in series A

Disease screening company Freenome Inc. (South San Francisco, Calif.) said it raised $65 million in a series A round led by existing investor Andreessen Horowitz. Prior investors Data Collective and Founders Fund also participated, as did new investors GV, Polaris Partners, Innovation Endeavors, Asset Management Ventures, Charles River Ventures and Spectrum 28.

GV is also an investor in Grail Inc. (Menlo Park, Calif.), which on Wednesday announced the $900 million first close of a planned $1 billion series B round. Both companies are developing tests for early cancer detection (see above)...
