Barer among investors acquiring NexImmune

An investor group including former CEOs of Celgene Corp. (NASDAQ:CELG) and Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) has acquired immuno-oncology company NexImmune Inc. (Gaithersburg, Md.) for an undisclosed amount.

The group includes Sol Barer, the former Celgene chairman and CEO who is now chairman of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE:TEVA; Tel Aviv:TEVA); his son Joshua Barer, a managing director at Sunflower Life Sciences; William Hawkins, who was chairman and CEO of Medtronic, and other undisclosed investors.
