Zogenix raises $60M, buys Aradigm's Intraject

Neurology company Zogenix (San Diego, Calif.) raised $60 million in a series A round led by Clarus and Domain Associates. Additional investors included BA Venture Partners; Thomas, McNerney; and Life Science Angels. Zogenix also acquired ARDM's Intraject subcutaneous delivery technology and related assets for $4 million up front, plus milestones and royalties. The deal includes Intraject sumatriptan, which is expected to start a Phase III bioequivalency trial for migraine this year or early next year.
