Management tracks: Akero, NIH, Arcus

Metabolic disease company Akero Therapeutics Inc. (South San Francisco, Calif.) hired Bill White as its first CFO and head of corporate development. He was a managing director and head of U.S. life sciences investment banking at Deutsche Bank.

NIH appointed Debara Tucci as director of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, effective Sept. 3. She is a professor of surgery and director of the cochlear implant program at Duke University. Tucci succeeds Judith Cooper, who has served as acting director of NIDCD since the May 2018 retirement of Director James Battey. Cooper will become the institute's deputy director...
