Management tracks: Tamura reclaims CEO role at Sosei

Sosei Group Corp. (Tokyo:4565) said Peter Bains will step down as president and CEO and resign as director on Dec. 31. Executive Chairman, founder and former CEO Shinichi Tamura will replace Bains, effective Jan. 1.

Bains joined Sosei as COO in April 2016 and became president and CEO later that year, replacing Tamura. At the time, Sosei was evolving from reprofiling company to innovative drug discovery biotech, a move facilitated by its 2015 acquisition of Heptares Therapeutics Ltd. through which it gained an R&D platform. Bains was a board member at both companies at the time of acquisition and was "instrumental" in orchestrating the deal, Tamura said in a statement Wednesday.
