MSKCC President & CEO resigns from Merck's board

President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Craig Thompson will immediately resign from the boards of Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK) and Charles River Laboratories International Inc. (NYSE:CRL) following revelations of financial ties to industry within the institution.
In a memo written to staff Tuesday, Thompson suggested the resignations were in response to "recent events" and his discussions with medical faculty and employees...
