Shire and MicroHealth partner to develop hemophilia tool

Shire plc (LSE:SHP; NASDAQ:SHPG) said it is collaborating with digital health company MicroHealth LLC (Vienna, Va.) to customize MicroHealth's existing monitoring tool for use among hemophilia A and B patients who have developed neutralizing antibodies against clotting factor replacement drugs.

In 2011, MicroHealth launched the digital monitoring tool to help hemophilia patients manage their treatment and care. Shire spokesperson Molly Poarch said Shire will provide funding, educational resources, and support services to enhance the app with new features and resources to specifically support patients with inhibitors.
