CIRM announces $36.2 million in grants

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine awarded $36.2 million in grants under its New Faculty Physician Scientist Translational Research Awards program. CIRM President Alan Trounson said the awards help "physician scientists in the critical early stages of their career." The program is designed "to encourage and support" career development. The awards were given to 12 researchers at California hospitals and universities for research on stem cell-based therapies for diseases including preeclampsia, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and hearing loss. ...
