AlloDerm acellular allograft dermal matrix data

A study in 67 patients with full thickness burns showed that 14-day take rates of AlloDerm were statistically equivalent to control autografts. The study, published in the Journal of Burn Care and Rehabilitation, showed that patients given AlloDerm had fibroblast infiltration, neovascularization, and neoepithelialization without evidence of rejection. Assessment of the wound over time showed that thin split-thickness autografts plus AlloDerm were equivalent to thicker split-thickness autografts.

The study consisted of a pilot phase with 24 patients to identify the optimum protocol, and a study phase with 43 patients (one of whom died) to evaluate graft performance. ...
