Governor James McGreevey established the Stem Cell Institute of New Jersey, a state-supported stem cell research institute. The institute will be jointly operated by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Rutgers University. The institute will be funded through a public-private partnership. McGreevey allocated initial funding of $6.5 million to help recruit researchers and provide some equipment for preliminary work while the facility is being built in New Brunswick. ...
