ImaRx announced that recent presentations at meetings have described its technology to aid delivery of drugs and gene therapies with agents based on its ultrasound contrast technology. At the Contrast Research Symposium in San Diego, and the Thoraxcenter Europe Symposium on Ultrasound Contrast imaging in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, results using acoustically activated gene and drug carriers were presented.

Increased expression of genes was achieved when transfection was followed by timed doses of ultrasound. Increased gene expression also was seen using ultrasound after liposomal transfection. ...
