Data from a preclinical study showed that NMP179 was 92 percent sensitive and had a specificity of 73 percent in predicting the development of cervical dysplasia after a patient's Pap smear gave inconclusive results (atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance). The diagnostic is intended to rule out patients at low risk for cervical cancer and prevent unnecessary colposcopy procedures. ...
