ShennonBio: Mining rare T cells for solid tumor therapies
DCVC-backed Harvard spinout builds three-candidate T cell engager pipeline with functional screening platform
ShennonBio is using an ultra-high-throughput microfluidics platform to discover solid tumor targets, identify rare tumor-reactive T cells, and functionally screen T cell engagers. With a new CEO and fresh financing, the biotech is advancing three trispecific candidates designed to address limitations of the modality in solid tumors, including tumor heterogeneity and antigen escape.
San Francisco-based Shennon Biotechnologies Inc. was founded in 2021 by Li Sun to develop a platform for screening single-cell interactions and immune activity at scale. The system uses droplets to encapsulate cell pairs, tiny fluid channels on a microfluidic chip, and fluorescent droplet sorting. Called Tcelerator, the platform emerged from Sun’s doctoral research in David Weitz’s lab at Harvard University. ...
