U.K. £650M financing package includes major boost for UK Biobank

The UK Biobank, one of the sector’s most prized resources, is getting a much needed financial boost as part of the U.K. government’s £650 million ($808.2 million) Life Sci for Growth package of financing policies.

Under the new financing policy, the UK Biobank is set to receive £154 million in funding from UK Research and Innovation to upgrade its capabilities. These include a new facility at Manchester Science Park, a hub to help SMEs better collaborate with industry and academia, and an upgrade of the Biobank’s IT infrastructure to accommodate multidisciplinary data. ...
