It’s official: Bertagnolli to lead NCI

The White House said President Joe Biden intends to appoint Monica Bertagnolli as director of the National Cancer Institute. Bertagnolli’s appointment was applauded by the American Association for Cancer Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology when first reported in July. She would be the first woman to lead the institute since its founding in 1937. NCI’s previous director, Ned Sharpless, left in April.
Sequoia China-backed radiotherapeutics company Full-Life Technologies Ltd. named company co-founder Hong-hoi Ting as chief strategy officer and James McCarter as VP, head of radioisotope technology research.
