Eight IPOs go out within a week

Variagenics (VGNX ), a developer of technologies for understanding genetic differences such as SNPs, announced that it has raised $70 million in an IPO of 5 million shares at $14. German biomaterials company Curasan (NMarkt:CUR) also sold its IPO yesterday on the Neuer Markt for EUR27.1 million ($25.4 million), bringing the number of IPOs sold within the week to eight. The other IPOs included: deCode (DCGN), which raised $198.7 million; Argonaut (AGNT) raising $69 million; Pain Therapeutics (PTIE) raising $60 million; Chromos (TSE:CHR) raising $20.2 million; TranXenoGen (LSE:TXN) raising 12.5 million ($18.7 million); and Transgenomic (TBIO), which sold its 762,000-share overallotment today, raising a total of $78.6 million. ...
