Foundation files suit against GSK

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation filed suit against GlaxoSmithKline (GSK; LSE:GSK) in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California alleging anti-trust violations related to the sale of GSK AIDS drugs AZT, Ziagen abacavir and 3TC lamivudine. The foundation alleges that GSK's AZT patents secured in the 1980s are invalid and that GSK acquired exclusive licenses to Ziagen and 3TC for the purpose of creating and maintaining a monopoly. The foundation said it is seeking damages as a major purchaser of these treatments for its uninsured patients. ...
