Pozen Phase IIIb migraine results

POZN said its MT 100 gave significant pain relief compared to placebo in 238 migraine patients with an intolerance to triptans or with cardiovascular risk factors precluding triptan use. In the U.S. double-blind Phase IIIb trial, 41% of MT 100 patients versus 20% of placebo patients reported sustained pain relief, as defined by pain relief within 2 hours of dosing with no relapse or rescue medication for the next 22 hours. Additionally, 54% of MT 100 patients reported two-hour pain relief compared to 33% of placebo patients. MT 100 also had a significantly lower incidence of nausea and sensitivity to sound within 3 hours of dosing, and a significantly lower incidence of sensitivity to light within 4 hours of dosing compared to placebo. ...
