Deutsche Boerse dissolving NMarkt

Deutsche Boerse said it will discontinue both the Neuer Markt and SMAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by the end of 2003 in a move to restore investor confidence in small- and medium-sized high tech companies. Deutsche Boerse said it will introduce a new model for the segmentation of its equity market at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The new segmentation will allow investors to differentiate between the regulatory standards with which the companies have agreed to comply. Following the dissolution, companies listed on the NMarkt will move to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, although the segment they will belong to is unknown.
