Researchers issue report on NIH funding

A report authored by seven U.S. universities and research institutions warns that a lack of NIH funding is prompting many young, innovative investigators to follow opportunities in industry or foreign countries instead of entering or remaining in academic biomedical research in the U.S. At a U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing on the topic on Wednesday, Harvard University President Drew Gilpin Faust testified, "We may be creating a climate where our position as the primary destination for the best and brightest researchers from around the world may be challenged." ...
