Sucampo gains on Amitiza approval

Sucampo (NASDAQ:SCMP) gained $2.19 (18%) to $14.32 on Wednesday after FDA approved an sNDA for Amitiza lubiprostone capsules to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adult women. The approval triggers a $50 million payment to Sucampo from Takeda (Tokyo:4502) under a 2004 deal.
