Amgen establishes beachhead in Brazil

Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:AMGN) acquired Brazilian pharma Bergamo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) for about $215 million in cash. Bergamo, which had gross revenues of $80 million in 2010, has 30 marketed products, including branded generics and biosimilars.
