AMA calls for trials registry

The American Medical Association's House of Delegates on Tuesday passed a resolution calling for the Department of Health and Human Services to establish a registry for all clinical trials conducted in the U.S. An AMA statement said the registry would "ensure that trials with negative as well as positive results are publicly available." Under the resolution, the AMA also will urge review boards in charge of approving human research conducted at their institutions to consider registration of clinical trials as a condition for approval. ...
