Former GSK exec Slaoui to lead Trump’s ‘Warp Speed’ vaccine initiative

BIO President and CEO Jim Greenwood welcomed the appointment Wednesday of vaccine veteran Moncef Slaoui as head of the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed initiative, which is intended to fast-track COVID-19 vaccine development.

Slaoui, now a partner at venture firm Medicxi, was chairman of the vaccines division at GlaxoSmithKline plc (LSE:GSK; NYSE:GSK) and head of its pharmaceutical R&D. He joined GSK in 1988 and retired from the pharma in 2017. ...
